Contest results/VideoWell let’s see here…um I had a part in Chronicles of Gnarlia which is a totally epic production, and I did get second at World Quarterpipe Championships in 03’
Shred historyI grew up riding riding the bulletproof slopes of southern Vermont, mainly Bromley. My friends and I ruled that small, family-friendly resort with an icy fist. Then during my last two years of high school I went to Stratton Mountain School. You may say that I sold out Bromley with this move, but hey, I still rode there on the weekends! Then when I was 17 I moved to Mammoth, and was there until last season when I made the move north to Reno.
Personal riding styleI skate a bunch, so I like to think that my style is skateboard influenced. I like to keep it kind of middle-of-the-road though. I can’t get down with these kids that are totally one way or another. Totally gangster makes no sense to me! Kids, you’re not gangster, you’ve never been in a gang, you’re from Connecticut not Compton, so grow up and be yourselves. Emo kids are just as bad though, and what’s up with the Emo-gangster look? Tall tees and tight pants? That can die out any time now, thanks.
Pipe, Park, or Backcountry Pow? All of the above. One isn’t more fun than the other. There’s nothing like a sick pipe, but at the same time doing gnarly pow lines with your buds can be the best time ever.
What’s hotStoves, lighters, well used machine gun barrels. Ok seriously, I don’t really know. I would like to see early nineties shred style meet new millennium clothing technology to create the new hot trend in snowboarding.

Favorite InvertProbably the Miller Flip…I dunno they’re all so fun.
Shredding palsOh man…well the entire Crewsaiderz Crew for sure. That consists of Cody Rosenthal, Greg Bokenkamp, Peter Benchetler, Shayne Pospisil, Eric “scuba” Seidler, Ricky Tucker…too numerous to mention. Then there are the guys I’ve just ridden with forever like Tyler Emond, Tim Benasich, Wyatt Caldwell, KP Kevin Pearce, The Mitrani Brothers…everybody is everybody shred pal in this crazy mixed up life of boarding.
TunesRock and Roll…no new nonsense though. It’s kind of too bad that all the good music has already been made…almost makes it pointless to try and be a musician these days knowing that anything you make won’t measure up. Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, and I just branch out from there. Get some dirty New York in there like the Velvet Underground, New York Dolls, and The Ramones. You’ve got your British influences, the Beatles of course; the Stones are just amazing, Zep and Sabbath of course. Early punk is a must…Buzzcocks, Dead Boys. This list could really go on for quite some time, but since I hate typing, it won’t.
1 TrickBackflip or frontside 360’s…it’s a tossup.
Favorite movie Maybe the Big Lebowski…Ghostbusters is also right up there. That movie is so much funnier than people even realize. What About Bob, Donnie Darko, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure…this list could go on and on as well.
Top 5 snowboarders of all-time- Terje (duh)
- Craig Kelly
- Jeff Brushie
- Jeremy Jones (big mountain of course)
- Jamie Lynn
Most shradical experienceThat would probably have to be this one trip I took last season. It started out with my first-ever Baker Banked Slalom experience which will be with me until the day I die. From there I went on a two week long backcountry camping extravaganza into the wilds of Idaho with some of my best friends Shayne Pospisil and Wyatt Caldwell to name a few. The only thing that would have made it better would be if Wyatt hadn’t of almost died halfway through the trip- Gnarly!
What’s the low-down on your plans for the upcoming seasonWell basically I’m just gonna work my ass off. I plan on doing some cool contests like the Honda Sessions at Vail, maybe a couple of the Open Series. I wouldn’t mind getting out of the country for something, but we’ll see. I also plan on getting into the backcountry quite a bit and hopefully I can bang out a video part.
Other hobbies/activities outside of snowboardingLets see, obviously skating, I like history a lot too, mainly WWII, I do go to school occasionally. I have been working on putting out a country music album under the alias Bayou Billy Bassett and my band the Bassett Hounds, cooking is an awesome time when I’ve got time, and I love hanging out with my girlfriend Brittany and my dog Sunny.
Last wordsAre for dying men…I came here to live!
