Shred History:
I grew up riding in NJ, which enabled me to understand how to ride rails, as there seems to be hundreds of them. I then realized I needed to be able to hit jumps and spin- everyone else was doing backflips at that time. I wanted to do front 7s like Solberg and the rest of the Afterbang video crew. So my friend Matt Bothfeld and I spent all our time figuring out how to hit jumps in a way we thought was important and being from NJ and with basically no jumps made us look for other alternatives. So, we decided to buy ''Mountain Boards'' and spent every day in the off-season learning how to spin all 4 directions so that when we did get to hit jumps at contests, we would be somewhat prepared to have a leg up on the rest of the kids from our area. I then started to travel to contests and go to camps where I met Jesse Burtner, who really refined my approach to hitting jumps. A couple years later, I got back into rails pretty heavily as I felt like I had some catching up to do on the rest of the rail kids but this past season in Tahoe I purchased my own sled and was stoked to start shredding backcountry.
Personal riding style:
‘’All around stylish and easy going...one of the best kids to film cause’ he sticks to what he says he going to do, and hikes twice as fast as everyone else.” -Matt Roberge

Backcountry and handrails are my favorite, but gotta’ love park, pipe and going straight down the steepest hill at the mountain.

Top 5 Snowboarders of all-time:

  • JP Solberg
  • Danny Davis
  • JP Walker
  • Aaron Bittner

Most shradical experience:
Every fun day with my best friends is the best. Whether its sunny, snowing, fresh pow, or rain- it’s all good times!
Give us the low-down on your plans for the upcoming season:
Do the early season rail jams and film a lot of handrails wherever there’s snow. Move to Tahoe after Christmas, compete in a few slope and rail contests throughout the season, and continue to film and shoot as much as possible in between.
Last words:
If you love it, live it!
